British Masters and Senior Age Group Swimming Championships


City of Oxford masters swimmers were in top form at the British Masters and Senior Age Group Championships held in Manchester from 12th to 14th June. Leading the way David Denny won two golds and one silver medal in the Men’s 35-39 years age category. Denny’s golds came in the 100m butterfly in 1.01.27 and the 400m freestyle in 4.26.78, with silver in the 200m freestyle (2.05.41). Matthew Gomez added a further gold in the Men’s 45-49 years 200m breaststroke in 2.49.19 and bronze in the 100m breaststroke (1.17.15). Christopher Johansen took silver in the Men’s 30-34 years, 200m backstroke in 2.40.44. Zsuzanna Felvegi completed City’s medal tally with bronze in the Women’s 35-39years 100m butterfly (1.17.58).

City of Oxford’s Emily Nisbet, 15 years old, has been selected to represent East England in the 2015 Sainsbury’s School Games to be held in Manchester from 3rd to 6th September 2015.
