City of Oxford swimmers also had a strong showing in the British Paralympic Swimming Championships held in Manchester, 12/13 December. Rosie Bancroft took gold in the S10 400m freestyle in 4.46.69, and silvers in the 100m freestyle (1.06.18) and 50 m freestyle (31.56). Bancroft joins the GB National Paralympic Squad for a warm weather training camp in Thailand on 30th December as part of the team’s preparations for the Rio Olympics. Libby Gotta, 11 years old, broke 5 Deaf age group records and won 3 gold medals in the 200 IM (3:04:07), 100 backstroke (1:24:65), 100m Breaststroke (1:40:55) and 2 bronze medals in the 50m (34:53), and 100m freestyle (1:16:71). Chris Currie also had a busy weekend competing in 7 events across the weekend in the S14 category.
