NATIONAL ARENA SWIMMING LEAGUE 2015
Having made the national final for the first time in the club’s history in the 2014-15 season, City of Oxford Swimming Club began their 2015-16 campaign with victory in round 1 of the Premier Division South National Arena Swimming League held in Horsham on Saturday 10th October. In a hard fought competition against some of the League’s top swimming clubs, City finished just 8 points ahead of second placed Sevenoaks SC with Wycombe District SC in third. In a tense start, Wycombe took an early narrow lead, which they maintained until well over half way. City then stormed ahead with a series of wins in the latter individual and relay events, amassing 18 first, 11 second and 12 third placed finishes in total. The victory places City in a strong position to qualify for the regional final in December.
The points at the end of the gala were as follows City of Oxford 232, Sevenoaks 224, Wycombe District 222, Bracknell & Wokingham 146, Havant & Waterlooville 126, Atlantis 98.
