City of Oxford swimmers, Libby Gotta and Lily Cooke competed at the Great Britain Deaf Swimming Championships held at Nottingham University pool on Saturday 19th March.
11 year old Gotta, competing in the 11years and under category, won an incredible 5 gold medals in the 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 50m freestyle and 100m butterfly. The 100m butterfly also saw her pick up a new British age group deaf record. Gotta also took silver in the 100m breaststroke and 200 individual medley.
A first timer at the national event, Lily Cooke, 9 years old, gained personal best times in all of her events.
