Strong performance seals success in High Wycombe & Oxford

The COSC Ragingbulls have started their journey to the Cardiff International Pool for the National Arena Swimming League Finals. This season sees City of Oxford Swimming Club entering two teams into this premier event, that is the equivalent to the FA CUP for swimming. With Team A in the Premier Division South and Team B in Division 2 South West, the swimmers swum the pools alive at Blackbird Leys Leisure Centre and High Wycombe Leisure Centre to seal a 1st and 3rd place in Round 1.

Team A swum against 5 other teams from Seven Oaks, RTW Monson, Beckneham, Sutton & Cheam and Windsor. They finished 1st (236 points) ahead of RTW Monson 2nd (192 points) and Sevenoaks A Team 3rd (166 points). Subject to verification from Oxon & North Bucks, three County Records were broken during the Premier Division competition in the Girls 15 and under 4 x 50m Freestyle relay, Boys 15 and under 4 x 50m Freestyle relay and Boys 15 and under 4 x 50m Medley relay.

Team B swum against seven other teams from Bournemouth, Guilford, Alton, Haselmere, East Leigh, Wycombe and Chichester. Round 2 on the 10th November 2018, will see Team A traveling to Guildford to compete against Guilford B Team, Thanet A Team, Rushmoor A Team, Woking and Beckenham. Whereas Team B will be traveling to Southampton to compete against Bournemouth, Rushmore B Team, Chesham, Alton, Wey Valley, Haslemere and West Wight.

Well done to all the swimmers involved, especially to all those swimmers that experienced their first ever National Arena Swimming League event. Hone those skills in training and let’s swim those pools alive in Rounds 2 and 3, we have two teams to be proud of.

Club Profile

City of Oxford Swimming Club offers coaching and competitive swimming for all ranges of swimmers from 7 to over 70. The club has an excellent calibre of coaching staff which ensures all can reach their full potential. The club environment allows swimmers to excel individually but also promotes a team spirit and is currently the top junior and overall club in the county.
