Swim Wales Long Course Championships – 14th April 2017

Swimmers from swimming clubs all across the UK who’s nationality is Welsh headed to Swansea for three days of competitive swimming in the Swim Wales Long Course Championships.

Swim Wales Long Course Championships is a level 1 Closed Long Course (50m) meet aimed at top ranking swimmers including para-swimmers. City of Oxford Swimming Club had two swimmers Cathryn Peake and Megan Peake participating in 5 events over four days. Not put off by the presence of the the highlight was Megan finishing second in the 100 m backstroke final and receiving her silver medal from Aaron Moores, the British Paralympic swimmer who won a gold medal in Rio. Megan narrowly missed a medal in the 50m backstroke, finishing 4th. There were also strong swims from Cathryn who PB’d in the 200 m backstroke and 50 m backstroke.
