Irish International Swimmer Alex Murphy swam with the club over the Christmas period as he is home from University in Dublin. This was an opportunity for younger swimmers in the club to meet with him, see his European Championship Medal and ask some tough questions about race strategy and tactics.
Alex recently won a Bronze Medal at the European Short Course Championships in Netanya Israel. In a thrilling 50m Breaststroke final he touching in just 0.14 seconds after GBs Adam Peaty. Alex shared the Podium with Russian Champion Oleg Kostin who touched in at exactly the same time of 26.35.
Alex said “when I am back at Oxford City Swimming Club for holidays it’s great to be able to train with a fantastic group of talented and hard working swimmers”.
