Land training skill camps

City of Oxford Swimming Club are proud to offer Land Training Skill Camps for non City of Oxford Swimming Club swimmers and Coaches. This is even more important in todays environment, as clubs adapt to new ways of training and look to develop new skills that will progress swimmers for the future.

Our June 2020 Zoom Skills Camp, offers four different stroke specific sessions that will be run by our Head Coach and Strength & Conditioning Coach.

Amanda Booth is the Head Coach of City of Oxford Swimming Club and previously worked as a Chartered Physiotherapist with International Athletes from a variety of sports. As a Coach she has developed a very unique way of working on land to facilitate and enhance technical development in the pool.

Matt Croyle is the Lead Strength & Conditioning Coach at City of Oxford Swimming Club. He has worked with many sports, but now works full time in swimming. He uses his knowledge to progressively develop movement and physical attributes on land, with the aim of transferring these physical attributes into performances in the pool.

The sessions that we are offering are designed to give swimmers the opportunity to practice specific movement patterns related to swimming. This is a great way of practicing and developing technique on land during shutdown, in preparation for returning to swimming. Amanda and Matt have been delivering these sessions to City of Oxford swimmers and found them helpful in providing swimming related activity on land.
