April has only just started and it’s been a busy time for sport in Oxford. Starting off with Oxford United attending the EFL Trophy at Wembley (unlucky guys) and followed by The Oxford and Cambridge Boat Races, which resulted in the University of Oxford coming second in the women’s event and first in the men’s event.
The action packed sport doesn’t stop yet! This Sunday (9th April 2017) see’s the City of Oxford Swimming Club leaving their home competition pool (Leys Pools and Leisure Centre) and heading to the Cardiff International Pool for the equivalent of the FA Cup in swimming. Our swimmers have been training hard and are ready to take part in the National Arena Swimming League Final A. Progressing from the B Final in 2016 (where COSC finished third), COSC makes its first appearance at a National Arena League A Final. This is a phenomenal achievement for the club and it is recognition of the hard work of the team and the superb work done by our coaching staff with their swimmers across all age ranges and squads.
Good luck to all the swimmers taking part and have fun in and out of the pool as your parents, guardians, siblings and supporters bring drums, bongos, whistles etc and create that party atmosphere. #RagingBulls
