Swimming should be safe and fun for all swimmers. As a Swim England Affiliated Club, we follow Wavepower as our Safeguarding Policy, which you can find here.
It covers topics such as late collections from training and competitions, transporting of children, managing bullying among other safeguarding related topics. In relation to safeguarding in the changing rooms, Swim England also produced the film 'Keep it in your locker' to remind the swimmers about the no use of devices with a camera in changing rooms' environments.
Regarding Mental Health support for adults and young people, the National Safeguarding and Welfare Team suggests having a look at the Hub of Hope here. The Hub of Hope has all of the services available to a person in their area.
Swim England provides safeguarding resources for children to help them feel confident in asking for help, should they need it. Ask your club Welfare Officer for a copy or click the links below to download your own pdf leaflets here
