Masters Swimming Club in Oxford

COSC Masters Pathway is for swimmers aged 18+ who want to access high-quality training and coaching with other like-minded adults.
Contact Us

Professionally coached, competitive swimming opportunities for adults living across Oxfordshire.

Our friendly squad caters for people aged 18 years and above who have a wide variety of ‘lane’ swimming abilities.

Some members compete in pool-based swimming events on a local to international level, while others train for triathlons, open-water swimming or general fitness.

Masters squad training sessions usually last for an hour and a half each, with lanes organised by speed and catering for a range of abilities and experience levels. The coach guides the group through a "set", with variations to suit each lane. Sessions focus on all four of the main swimming strokes, with flexibility for swimmers to choose their preferred stroke and adapt the set to suit them.

Richard Beard

Our Head Coach

I am joining the City of Oxford with seven years of coaching experience, developing swimmers at all levels at Hackney Aquatics Club before spending three and a half years at Plymouth Leander as Head of Age Group.

Whilst at Plymouth Leander, I have consistently produced national and regional medallists while also assisting with the high performance and performance squads.

My interests are developing people to become the greatest version of themselves and I am excited to begin a new adventure with City of Oxford Swimming Club.

I am passionate about swimming, music, history and cycling.
